The Secrets of Rand” is a Classic Traveller campaign based in the Rand Subsector of the Eastmark Reaches, Coreward and Spinward of the Humaniti homeworld of Terra. It does not follow the typical setting presented in Classic Traveller Supplements, though several parts of it will be recognizable.

The planet Rand is unique in that it has enclaves from the five Major interstellar empires of the known Galaxy as part of the peace agreement created to stop the races from destroying one another for control of the planet. Nearly 10 years ago the planet was discovered to be what appears to be a military research facility for the race known only as The Ancients, a long dead race of beings who wiped themselves out in wars over 300,000 years ago.

As part of the peace agreement all five races share in researching the ruins, to allay the fears that another empire has discovered a ‘doomsday’ device. All five empires are allowed to only have a set number of military ships in orbit at one time. The Medusa Web is in charge of the planetary bureaucracy and security, but each empire holds sovereignty over their own enclaves.
